We have the following prepayment policy:
- Three days before your appointment, you will receive an email with a link to pay for your appointment. If payment is not received by 10 AM the following day, your appointment will be canceled.
No-show, same-day cancel/reschedule policy:
- Patients who no-show or same-day cancel/reschedule their appointments (i.e., anytime after midnight on the day of the appointment) will not receive a refund. We will work with you to make up the appointment outside our regular schedule. You will not be allowed to schedule another appointment during our normal hours until the missed appointment is made up. Patients who no-show or same-day cancel the make-up appointment will not be offered another appointment, and their money will not be refunded.
Why am I being asked to prepay for my appointment?
- We adopted this policy for the following reasons:
- No-shows and last-minute cancellations are ongoing issues for us. We typically have a waiting list of people who want to be seen, and when patients don't keep their appointments, we miss out on treating someone else.
- Some patients don't pay for their visit once they discover their insurance will not cover the newer injectable weight-loss medications. This is why we recommend people figure this out before they book an appointment - see Insurance coverage for GLP drugs
- Starting in 2023, credit reporting agencies no longer report medical debt under $500, leaving small practices like ours zero recourse for collecting debt owed
What does the $60 payment cover?
The $60 payment covers the visit cost for one issue, like weight loss. Additional issues are $10/issue. For example, if you are seen for weight loss, migraines, and a rash, the visit cost is $80, and you will be sent an invoice for the additional $20 owed. Cash-pay labs are also extra.
Will Texas Telemedicine Doctor auto draft my credit card?
Never. The only time your card is charged is when you complete a payment.
